Luftschlösschen

Inspired by the "Winterspielzeit" (Winter Season) 2018/19, "Das Luftschlösschen" (The Little Castle in the Air) was created in 2022 – a cross-genre, interdisciplinary event series in the basement rooms of the historic Palais Walderdorff in Trier. The name connects three levels: the courtly history of the palace, built in 1758; the metaphorical power of a "castle in the air" as a symbol for bold visions and utopias; and a deliberately tongue-in-cheek contradiction in locating a "little castle" of all places in the basement. The visual identity of the series grew out of this tension between ambition and self-irony, between history and experiment.
